Thursday;
What can i say about Thursday? After the first two races, one did wonder if it could be 'that' day we have been craving where we'd hit a big day. Did we? Well if you backed them you'd know exactly what happened...
Henry King - WON @ 4/1 = +4pts
Fantasy Fry - WON @ 5/2 = +2.5pts
Restless Bay - 2nd = -1pt
Spontaneity - 2nd = -1pt
Cobo Bay - WON @ 9/4 = +2.25pts
She's On The Case - Lost = -1pt
Scoglio - Lost = -1pt
Frequency - 2nd = -1pt
Saddlers Bend - 2nd = -1pt
John Potts - WON = +2.5pts
Angelic Upstart - 3rd = -1pt
P&L = +4.25pts. Not too bad but 4 of our picks coming 2nd it was another frustrating day, despite recording a nice profit. Not to mention Scoglio which was on the end of one heck of a punt, going off as 7/2fav, but unfortunately it was 'unlucky' in running.
Friday;
After Thursday's win, but 'could have been better win' Friday wasn't the best
Titan Diamond - Lost = -2pts
Our Father - 2nd = -1pt
Romantic Queen - Lost = -2pts
Rare Coincidence - Lost = 1pt
Sheila's Bond - Lost = -1pt
P&L = -7pts
Saturday;
Not much going on really;
Sherwani Wolf - 4th = -1pt
Desert Cry - 2nd = -1pt
Kings Guard - 3rd = -1pt
P&L = -3pts
Sunday;
Bad day Friday, bad day Sat, and yes, bad day today;
Eighteen Carat - 2nd = -1pt
Ontrack - Lost = -1pt
Ballyvesey - Lost = -1pt
Crystal Prince - 3rd = -1pt
P&L = -4pts
Football;
A very quiet week, but 2/3 winners, and a nice touch with Kilmarnock. Bolton managed to hold off an impressive looking Villa side to come back and win 3-2, but Coventry finished with 10 men after being battered at home to Bristol City.
Coventry = -1pt
Bolton = +1.15pts
Kilmarnock = +6.15pts
P&L = +6.3pts
So a bad for days for horse racing and a decent enough return from our football picks. Our horse racing is providing a real sticky point for us right now - looking at Friday's results show that. We dont expect to provide a profit every day, and bad runs are part and parcel of the sport, but some runs are worse and more frustrating than others and certainly can go on longer than you want. We remain confident however, and hope you do too.
