29th Feb

So a profitable day with our bet drifting to 5/1, and winning. +5pts.

One early selection that has already had a bit of steam this AM unfortunately.

6:35 Kempton - Valmina @ 8/1 bet365, 15/2 gen.

Should be some more in an hour.

Good luck

Tuesday

Very quiet so far - still waiting on a couple of things, in case some factors fall in line, but as of yet, just the one bet today:

4.40 Ling - Fugitive Motel @ 11/4

Very best of luck

Monday Results

So a joy-less day again, and another day whereby one of our selections traded 1.13 on Betfair in-running but was still pipped, after a making a mistake two out. Frustrating.

Rocky Ryan 2nd, by a neck, rallying well, but just not enough = -1pt
Songsmith raced off the pace, and with a couple of errors was eased off and never competed = -1pt
Madame Jasmine couldn't seem to find a way through the pack, but outpaced when did make a move to progress = -1pt

So a blank day of -3pts, which could have nearly been a profit. Never mind, things will turn.

Crawley lost 2-1 away to Shrewsbury, who maintain their very impressive home record, even if the result seemed cruel on Crawley, who edged possession, anddominated shots for (9-17) and shots on target (4-11) but lost out. -1pt, which in the grand scheme of things made a our weekend a marginal losing one.

Usual action to follow later on. Any football blog bets do look unlikely at this stage.

Monday Bets

Right, not the best day of racing ever seen, but a couple of selections are system has thrown up today. Remaining hopeful as ever :)

Plumpton:
3.15 Rocky Ryan @ 4/1
4.15 Songsmith @ 4/1
5.15 Madame Jasmine @ 15/2

All 1pt bets - very best of luck if you get involved

Results Catch-up

Just going to go straight into:

Horse Selections

Friday 24th Feb:
Southern State just pipped by a neck into 2nd place = -1pt
Mon Chevalier drifted to 6/1 SP, and never looked in contention = -1pt
Thunderstruck was well backed, but one paced when more was needed = -1pt

So -3pts for Friday:

Saturday 25th Feb:
Dark And Dangerous was also well backed in from 33/1 to 20/1 SP, and ran quite well, just tailing off in the last furlong to finish 3rd = -1pt
Not So Sure Dick also 3rd, but did not have enough in the tank = -1pt
Dinarius, advised @ 12/1, went off the 22/1 outsider and pulled up. Start ok, but never looked right after being hampered = -1pt
Arthurian Legend, again 3rd, and once more drifted from the advised price. No chance with the winner though = -1pt
Estonia was not too far away, but seem to take a while to get going, which may have proved costly = -1pt

Saturday was another blank day, even if we had three x 3rd place finishes = -5pts

Sunday 26th Feb:
Sir Du Bearn 2nd, but not enough to win = -1pt
Utopian WON, and quite impressively, by 11 lengths, showing a good change in gears throughout the race = +2.25pts
Regal Brook nowhere = -1pt

Sunday saw one winner, but only a +0.25pt profit registered.

So a bleak weekend on the horse racing front, and even with the three profitable days recently, things can improve.

Football:

Arsenal beat Spurs 5-2 in a classic encounter = +1.5pts
Betis drew 1-1, with the equaliser an OG = -1pt
Cagliari lost 1-2 = -1pt
Crawley play tonight
Dagenham drew 0-0 = -1pt
Hibernian won 1-3 comfortably beating Kilmarnock away, and as a 1.5pt bet = +4.125pts
Notts County scored 10mins from time to win 1-0 = +0.85pts
St Mirren drew 1-1, in what was a fair result by all accounts = -1pt
Jablonec drew 2-2 = -1pt
Lucko lost 0-1 = -1pt
PSV edged Feyenoord 3-2, despite throwing away a 2 goal lead in the first place = +0.41pts

So again, we just edge a profit, with the big winner with Hibs. We stand at 0.885pts for this weekend, with Crawley yet to play, so this can still swing. A mention must go to Arsenal who fought back to win from 2 goals down, although deserved as much. I have loved watching Spurs this year, but just did not happen for them from an attacking or defensive point of view, and how Gareth Bale seems to be avoiding any stick for diving is beyond belief.

Onwards and upwards :)

Right, let's go to 3/3 winning days!

4.30 Lingfield - Southern State @ 15/8
4.50 Warwick - Mon Chevalier @ 4/1
7.30 Wolves - Thunderstruck @ 13/2

All 1pt - best of luck!

Results Update

Decided to get the past few days up to date ahead of what should be a busy weekend.

22nd:

Good Morning Star - looked as though it make all, but came second by 1/2 length, -1pt
Look At Me Now - ran ok but couldn't find enough at the end, -1pt
Dvinksy - no where, -1pt
Akarshan WON at advised 3/1 after running a strong race and winning comfortably, +3pts
John Louis WON at advised 9/2 after making all, +4.5pts
Safwaan - never in contention, -1pt

So 2W-4L day but profits finally made. +3.5pts

23rd:

Beachwood Bay WON at advised 7/1, +7pts
Shockingtimes - never really challenging, -1pt
Whitcombe Spirit - same as above, -1pt
Phardess - looked as though we would recuperate all losses from the bad run, but just came second, -1pt

So another profitable day. A tad frustrating with Phardess but will certainly take it. 1W-3L, +4pts.

Overall then the past 2 days have been good to us. 3W-7L and +7.5pts. Have to be happy with that. Hopefully we can continue. Expect horses around midday.

Cheers

Thursday, 23 February 2012

One more

2:10 Southwell - Beachwood Bay @ 7/1

All for today, good luck.

1:50 - Shockingtimes @ 7/2

2:50 - Whitcombe Spirit @ 8/1

4:20 - Phardessa @ 12/1

13th:

Availed Speaker - led at one stage but soon tailed off, -1pt
Roedean - tracked leader but weakened at the end, -1pt

0W-2L -2pts.

14th:

Avenging Ace - our 2pt bet, but came no where, -2pts
Quinder Spring - never in contention, -1pt

0W-2L -3pts.

15th:

Fugitive Motel - one paced at the end, -1pt
Alhaban WON with SP for 9/4. Some luck here, winning by a nose, +2.25pts

1W-1L, +1.25pts.

16th:

The Lock Master - crushed at the off, but came second, -1pt
Andiamo Via - 3rd and never really challenging, -1pt
Sylas Ings - as our 2pt bet, never did anything, last, -2pts

0W-3L, -4pts

17th:

Royal Commission - never in contention, -1pt
Deireadh Re - tracked leaders but tailed off, -1pt
Eagle Nebula - had every chance but just lost out coming second, -1pt
Martys Mission - every chance but one pace at the end and came second, -1pt
Hernello - absolutely crushed at the off, but couldn't really challenge in the end, -1pt

0W-5L, -5pts

18th:

The Minach - fell, -1pt
Joe Le Taxi - came no where, -1pt
I Confess - 2pt bet couldn't challenge at all, -2pts.

0W-3L, -4pts.

19th:

Gentle Bob - led but not even close to the winner, -1pt

0W-1L, -1pt.

20th:

Hawk Moth - every chance but just lost out to a winner that made all, -1pt

0W-1L, -1pt.

21st:

Wolf Moon - NR
Dualla Lord - a mistake put him out of contention, -1pt
Ski Sunday - drifted massively at the off, and came no where, -1pt
Genstone Trail - traded odds on but lost by a neck, -1pt

0W-3L, -3pts.

I am sorry it has taken so long to get these fully up to date, but I'm sure you can see my reluctance to. It has been a miserable run, but these are inevitable. Just hoping we can bounce back soon. Totals: 1W-21L -21.75pts (ouch!).

Football

14th:

Aldershot - won 1-0, +0.91pts
Bristol City - drew 2-2, -1.5pts
Burton - lost 3-2, -1.5pts
Hartlepool - lost 1-0, -1.5pts
Leeds - lost 2-1, -1pt
Notts Co - won 2-1, +0.75pts
Tranmere - drew 0-0, -1pt

So a pretty ugly midweek, 2W-5L -4.84pts

18th:

Ado Den Haag - drew 1-1, -1pt
Aldershot - won 1-0, +3.1pts
Bristol City - lost 3-0. -1.5pts
Hearts - lost 3-0, -1pt
Heracles - won 2-1, +1.63pts
Lincoln - yet another sickening result. 1-0 until the 91st minute, and Kidderminster equalise, costs us 4.5pts. Have to laugh; Chelsea 3-0, Bury, Lincoln & Eastwood Town all getting gubbed late on costing us well over 20pts. -1pt (lincoln)
Mlada Boleslav - won 2-1, +0.44pts
Notts Forest - won 2-0, +1.455pts
Sheff Utd - won 2-1, +0.5pts
Southend - won 1-0, +1.4pts
FC Wil - drew 1-1, -1pt

So a positive weekend, but still have to see Lincoln as further points 'stolen' from us. Totals: 6W-5L +3.025.

21st:

Bath City - lost to Hayes & Yeading 1-0, -1.5pts

1L, -1.5pts.

Overall a poor period in football. 4:40pm on Saturday was looking great. 4:46:50 was looking ugly. Totals: 8W-11L, -3.315.

That brings us up to date. Hopefully we can hit some winners today and continue to do so throughout the weekend. Horse post to come in an hour or so.

Cheers

Tuesday Bets

So another loss, and the draw-down continues. Over the next couple of days I am going back through everything, purely to see if there can be any explanation for this drop-off. Still, the nature of the beast means we plough on.

3.15 Wetherby - Wolf Moon @ 8/1 (2pts)

Weekend Results Update

Horses

9th:

Ace Master - despite the steam mentioned, it couldn't hold on to the lead it had until the end, -1pt

10th:

Glorious Twelfth - had its chances but couldn't quite do enough, -1pt

11th:

Royal Bajan - our 2pt bet looked to be running ok before weakening at the end, -2pts
Piscean - never in contention, -1pt
Rightcar - came 3rd but was always behind the leading two, -1pt
Sole Danser - came 2nd to a 25/1 shot, -1pt

12th:

Smart Act - Looked as though it was going to bring it home, traded 1.05 on betfair, but just lost, -1pt

So all in all a very disappointing 4 days. Doesn't help with meetings being abandoned, but still 7 bets and no winners isn't a weekend I'll be wanting to remember. -8pts.

Football

Tranmere - postponed.
Catania - convincingly beat Genoa 4-0, +1.47pts
Rayo - beat 10 men Getafe 2-0, +1.4pts
WBA - thrashed Wolves 5-1 away, +1.875 (well done to everyone who got >2/1 which was available the whole of yesterday).
St Mirren - our only let down of the weekend (typical it was our biggest bet), drew 0-0 to Motherwell at home, -2pts.

So 3W-1L sees us go +2.745pts. Shame St Mirren couldn't give us the complete clean sweep, but Sunday's teams certainly produced the goods to give us a nice profit on another frustrating weekend of weather.

Usual horse post tomorrow midday.

Cheers

12th Feb

9th Feb

Right, just the one bet which unfortunately has had quite a lot of steam this AM (could have got 10/1 earlier), so maybe we'll get a bit of BOG kick in from the current price if it does drift back out once the steam stops (IF it stops). It is still a bet though.

3:00 Wolves - Ace Master @ 11/2

Good luck

Liverpool...

Was also a loser on Monday after a pretty dismal match vs Tottenham finishing 0-0. -1pt

Results Update

Horses

6th:

Saddle Pack - led in parts but weakened at the end, -1pt

Lockstown - pulled up, -1pt
Warden Bond WON at advised 11/2 to win by a neck, +5.5pts
Face Value - a tight finish with a 20/1 and a 50/1 edging 2nd and 3rd, -1pt

1W-3L sees us go +2.5pts for the day.

7th:

Just the one bet, Dew Reward, came 4th, -1pt.

8th:

Again, just the one bet but Discoverer WON at advised 9/2 after a pretty exciting race with 2nd place trading 1.01 for decent on betfair (ouch!). +4.5pts

So the three day period sees us go 2W-4L and +6pts.

Football

Just the one midweek bet, Crawley, who won 4-2 at home to Cheltenham, +0.73

Superbowl Results

Sorry forgot about this.

Last nights Superbowl was fantastic. Each team had great spells in the match, but another superb Eli drive late in the 4th saw the Giants go on to win it, and probably deservedly.

So +1.3pts on the Superbowl.

Results Update

Horses

3rd:

Alben Star - came 2nd challenging the whole time, -1pt

4th:

Diamond Vine - 3rd and not far behind winner, -1pt
Son Vida - led but tailed off finishing no where, -1pt

So a quiet weekend on the horses, all due to the weather. 0W-3L, -3pts.

Football

Birmingham - drew 0-0, -1pt
Burnley - drew 1-1, -1pt
Chelsea - should never get my hopes up when a team goes 3 up nowadays. Trade 1.03, finishes 3-3. Despite Man Utd being the better side throughout, you would expect a team like Chelsea to hold on. Big questions surrounding AvB's decision to sub Sturridge over Torres (especially when Fernando goes and misses a golden chance). Our big bet SHOULD have seen us cash in, sadly it didn't. -2.5pts (ouch)
Sunderland - As soon as Huth got sent off this game was only going one way. Sunderland continue to impress under O'Neill winning 1-0, +2.41pts
Atl Madrid - held 0-0 at home to Valencia, -1pt
Fiorentina - good 3-2 victory over Udinese, +1.25pts
Rayo - For once, a side who is 1-0 down come back in the last 15 to win the match for us. +2.26pts

Liverpool - play this evening against Spurs, the price has came in quite a bit, a few books still above betfair though if you haven't got on already.

So, Sunday was a roller coaster day, and one that we should have been celebrating with decent profits, turned out to be small profit. So far the weekend P&L is +0.42pts with 3W-4L, and Liverpool still to play. Let's hope they can undo their previous run of form at home in the Prem, especially with the return of Suarez.

Cheers

Monday Early Bet

Right, this has drifted in the early markets, but it is a bet. Not so sure it will stay as big in price as it is currently.

3.55 Wolves - I Confess @ 9/1 Ladbrokes. (1pt)

Superbowl Sunday

So, arguably the biggest sporting occasion ever year commences tonight with the New York Giants vs New England Patriots.

The way the line has been going hints the support is for Giants, and we have a bet. Unfortunately, the +3 line is getting shorter in price, so we will be backing the Giants on the outright.

Bet:
NY Giants @ 2.30 with Betcris.

Results Update

Figured I'd get everything up to date ahead of this weekend.

Horses

30th:

Seven Is Lucky - pulled up, -1pt
Tarquinius - second to the fave, -1pt
Marju King - was always in touch but never really challenged in the end, -1pt

So a nothing day, -3pts.

31st:

Malcheek - tracked leaders but never really challenged in the end, -1pt
Pick A Little WON at advised 11/8, winning by a neck, +1.375
Merrion Square - a blunder at the end put him out of contention, -1pt
Watergate - our 2pt bet never really looked as though it was getting anywhere, -2pts
Mighty Monty - crushed at the off but never challenged, -1pt
Onefourfun - a couple of mistakes never gave him a chance, -1pt

1W-5L, a bad day overall -4.625.

1st:

Dancing Art WON at advised 11/4, after running a solid race, +2.75pts
Playing The Field - couldn't find enough at the end, -1pt

1W-1L see us go +1.75pts on the day.

2nd:

Dashing Eddie - never really looked in the race, -1pt
Pipers Piping WON at advised 5/1 after running a very solid race. Looked anyone's out of the top 3 at one points. +5pts
Beneath - held up and and never looked in contention, despite making decent headway after a bad start, -1pt
Standpoint - came no where, -1pt
Star Links - only one pace at the end, -1pt
Ezra Church WON as our 3pt bet at advised 4/1! Ran a fantastic race, winning clearly by 8 lengths. +12pts.

So our first 3pt bet of the year, and our past for quite some months now produced the goods and helped us gain a healthy +13pts on the day. 2W-4L.

That is all horseracing updated, and over this period we had +7.125pts with 4W-13L. Hopefully February can continue to be good to us.

Football

Bury x1.5 - pretty sick to go through this again. A 90(+3) 30yrd screamer was the difference between +6.3pts and -1.5pts. Very tough to get over. 1-1 in the end, -1.5pts
Ipswich - Absolutely destroyed the Hammers at home 5-1, +2.78pts
Barnsley - held on to win 3-2 after going 3-0 up against Derby, +1.52pts.

So the three bets give us +2.8pts and 2W-1L. Under normal circumstances I would be very happy with this, but the frustration of Bury will linger for a few more days. Still, if variance does exist, then hopefully we are due some in our favour.

Usual post tomorrow AM.

Cheers

The Rest

Despite no NH, we have plenty of AW racing to get involved. That 3pt bet is the first one we have had in a few months, so am hopeful we can convert today. The rest:

Southwell:
3.30 Dashing Eddie @ 15/8
3.30 Pipers Piping @ 5/1

Wolves:
2.50 Beneath @ 5/1
3.50 Standpoint @ 11/2
3.50 Star Links @ 10/3

All 1pt bets

***AS ALREADY ADVISED: 4.30 SOUTHWELL - EZRA CHURCH @ 4/1 (3PT BET)***

Very best of luck :)

4.30 Southwell - Ezra Church @ 4/1 (3pt bet)

Wednesday Bets

First, a note on the sickening last minute equaliser for Charlton last night. If you consider we suffered with Eastwood last week, that is a swing of near 13pts of so missed out on football profit from two injury time goals suffered. Just to rub it in as well, BBC Sport describes Dale Stephen's goal as a '30-yard stunner into the top corner.' A blow. Also, horses were not great.

Today - racing disrupted by the weather, and if forecasts are anything to go by, then this may be a regular occurrence for a while. Just the two bets today:

Newcastle:
2.50 Dancing Art @ 11/4
3.50 Playing The Field @ 3/1

Both 1pt - GL
