No bets for us today, on what is a poor day of racing. It is quite staggering that the standard of racing can not be spread out much more evenly than it is been currently. A pity too, because it means there is no immediate chance of going some way to rectifying yesterday.
Sat Results:
Ascot:
First Cat suffered from a poor start I feel, while the 2.30 was a horrible race for us. I wouldn't have thought many could have seen 33/1 Noble Citizen winning, whilst our picks did not really get anywhere. Sovereign Debt came home for us in the 3.05 as hot favourite, but Denton's run in the 4.20 was quite worrying. Perfect Silence was backed a touch into 7/2 fav, but could only manage 3rd, and the 5.30 was frustrating with 10/1 Sohraab was just pipped into 2nd. Taurus Twins weakened in the last.
York:
Bordlesscott never got going, and never justifying his jt-fav status, whilst in the 2.40, Fox Hunt nearly provided us with a decent winner (last time he won at 2pt @ 20/1) but could only make 2nd this time. In the 3.15, Green Destiny provided us with an 8/1 winner, and 2pt pick Beachfire came home in 4th. Quite Sparky never got involved, and likewise Van Go Go.
Newmarket:
Commissar drifted, and obliged finishing mid-division, while in the 2.55 Imperial Djay and King Of Jazz offered little. The most frustrating bet, 4pts on Delegator proved costly, only managing 5th. I feel the run by Dettori could have been better, as when being held up, the pack was incredibly tight, meaning chances to break through were too few and far between. Dimension in the 4.10 came 2nd, just a bit short on pace, whilst Crassula competed, but weakened when it mattered.
Chester:
One bet, Colour Vision in the 4.00 and it provided us with a small drifter winner, going off at SP 11/2, winning strongly and clear of the pack.
Salisbury:
One bet, and a 2pt pick, Emilio Largo also won, advised at 13/8
Hamilton:
The Fiery Cross was 2nd by a nk to a 66/1 winner, 2pt bet Unknown Rebel was backed into fav, and a close 3rd, whilst Thinking was a short head back in 2nd, meaning a day of very near misses at Hamilton.
Overall:
Not the greatest results to get back in action, but some of the runs were decent enough, and some luck was against us today I feel. It is just highly unfortunate that nothing really seemed to go our way, and on a day were a lot was staked.
