Weekend Results

Horse Racing:

Friday:
Chooseday 3rd, not far away, always in contention = -1pt
Sphinx 2nd, ran well, but didn't really look like winning = -1pt
Cosmic Moon, did ok, but weakened = -1pt
Dark Isle 3rd, in touch, pressed but no real extra pace = -1pt
Sky Diamond 2nd, not the greatest start, caught up, but just lacking = -1pt
Abhaath 2nd, finished strongly, but just held off = -1pt
Birdwatcher as the 2pt bet, was well beat and never got into it = -2pts

So 5 place finishes, insinuate a touch of mis-fortune, but still -8pts on the day.

Saturday:
Kohala as the 2pt bet was a NR
Vesuve 2nd outpaced early on, but came back well. = -1pt
Sri Putra, one paced = -1pt
Glee 2nd by a neck, always in contention, every chance, just pipped = -1pt
Danceintothelight 3rd one paced a touch = -1pt

So -4pts, again a couple of near misses unfortunately.

Sunday:
Hyperlink, led early on but weakened badly = -1pt
Osgood, also led early, but lost out with lack of extra = -1pt
Think Its All Over, led early too, but weakened = -1pt
River Rhapsody 2nd, although the winner was too good = -1pt

Not as great in performance, with 3 of the selections starting well, but not finishing
-4pts

General summary is that days looking back over the weekend, I am a bit miffed we haven't landed a winner all things considered, but especially in this game, it definitely does happen. Hopefully a change in fortune is not far away.

Football:

Accrington lost 0-2 = -1pt (did not drift to qualify as a 2pt bet)
Aldershot won 0-1 = +2.30pts
Alfreton lost 3-1 = -1pt
Bury lost 3-0 = -1pt
Carlisle lost 4-1 = -1pt
Cheltenham lost 4-1 = -1pt
Millwall drew 0-0 = -1pt
Watford drew 1-1 = -1pt
Twente won 5-2 = +0.28pts
Az Alkmaar won = +0.94pts
Tromso won 2-0 = +0.66pts
Bilbao lost 2-3 = -1pt

So a pretty whiff day in all, and the first two weeks have not been great. We were a touch unfortunate midweek, but when your backing big priced aways, it is possible to have days like this. Take it on the chin and move on.

-3.82pts loss on football

So overall, not the best of weekends we have ever had!

Back later with today's horse selections
