Merry Christmas!
From Wizardbet, to all our followers, supporters and to every other blogger out there.
This calendar year has been mixed, with horses fortunately outweighing the football. Always striving to improve!
But enjoy this day, stuff your faces, and have a few festive drinks (although not so the hangover affects what is a very busy day tomorrow!)
Merry xmas all!

Horses
Wednesday:
Wednesday:
Eastwood Ho WON at advised 6/1, +6pts
Diamond Finesse - never really made an impression, -1pt
Perfect Cracker - WON at advised 10/3, after being crushed into 13/8, +3.33pts
So 2/3 winners, gives us +8.33pts for the day, very happy with.
Thursday:
Charminster - tight finish and always looked to have a chance but couldn't produce, -1pt
Samson Collonges - another horse that was crushed but never really came anywhere, -1pt
Stanley Bridge WON at advised 10/3, saves us for the day. +3.33pts
Samson Collonges - another horse that was crushed but never really came anywhere, -1pt
Stanley Bridge WON at advised 10/3, saves us for the day. +3.33pts
1 winner from our 3 bets gives us +1.33pts profit on the day, bringing our two day total to 3W-3L, and +9.66pts profit. Very happy with the finish we have had in the run up to Xmas.
Football
Three bets for us on Wednesday, all in the Prem:
Everton - won 1-0, in a fairly close match according to the stats. +0.62pts
Fulham - lost very convincingly 5-0 to a United side that still, IMO, is due a defeat at some of these games. Wouldn't be surprised if we have a few more against them in the near future :-), -1pt
Arsenal - won 2-1. I was at this game, and for once I will have to say we were fortunate (about time), as Villa put up a good fight and probably deserved more out of it. Hey, not complaining though! +0.72pts
So a total of +0.34pts on the Wednesday football.
That brings us up to date. It has been a tough first half of the season in football, and hoping that Boxing Day is the start of better results for us. If variance does exist, then it is about time it kicks in in our favour. Very happy with the horses, they seem to be producing and I am hoping to continue picking up points here. Thanks all, have a great Xmas and expect some posts on Boxing Day.
Cheers

Rev It Up, came 2nd, -1pt
Overturn, came 2nd, -1pt
Sir Tantallus Hawk, weakened at the end, -1pt
Quite The Man, no chance at all during the race, -1pt
Berbice, fav but certainly didn't look it coming 11th, -1pt
Little Garcon, drifted heavily and to no surprise came last, -1pt
A miserable day it has to be said with no winners, and a couple of 2nds, -8pts.
Sunday
Ballybrough Gorta, couldn't get in to contention, and a blunder saw him come 10th, -1pt
Dancing Mist, similar to the above, just came 3rd, -1pt
Well, 3 days of races and no winners. Yesterday we had -2pts, bringing us to a total of -13pts for the last three days, with 0W, and 12L. Hoping this was just a bad patch in the middle of a good run.
Football
Aldershot WON 1-0, +1.79
Middlesborough x1.5, WON 1-0, +1.41
Oxford, drew 0-0, -1pt
Rayo, poor peformance at home, lost 3-1, -1pt
Rochdale, would have been a nice winner but sadly lost 3-0, -1pt
Rotherham, WON 3-2, +1.2
Siena (Serie A), another poor home performance losing 2-0 -1pt
Sion (Swiss Super League), drew 1-1, -1pt
Southend, lost 3-0, -1pt
Middlesborough x1.5, WON 1-0, +1.41

Rotherham, WON 3-2, +1.2
Siena (Serie A), another poor home performance losing 2-0 -1pt
Sion (Swiss Super League), drew 1-1, -1pt
Southend, lost 3-0, -1pt
So another poor weekend in the football, going -1.6pts - tough to get anything going at the moment, but hoping for the xmas period to provide us with some decent points (providing the weather behaves itself!)
US Sports
Friday: Siena in the NCAAB +13, covered comfortably losing 78-82. +0.95
Saturday: Troy in the NCAAB +17, not even close losing 68-106, -1pt
Sunday: Tennessee in the NFL +3.5, lost 22-17. Leading 10-9 going in to the 4th, but Brees does what he does best and threw two touchdown passes in the 4th to see us fail to cover by 1.5pts. -2pts
So not a great weekend for the US Sports either, but nothing damaging. -0.05pts in the NCAAB, and -2pts in the NFL.
Just finishing up on today's horses so expect a post soon.
Cheers

Results
So perhaps one was a touch greedy...
One winner, and a break even day:
Bay Central drifted and pulled up = -1pt
Fine Lace tracked leader well, but soon fell away = -1pt
Midnight Haze won @ adv 5/1, pulling well clear = +5pts
Rossbrin pulled up = -1pt
Kayaan not enough to compete = -1pt
Mr Hudson 2nd, and had every chance, just missing out = -1pt
So nothing gained, but nothing lost. Racing starts early tomo, so probably expect staggered posts as we go along.

Today's Results
Going to make it quick as shattered this end sorry.
Edge Of Town WON with SP of 11/4, +2.75pts
Ockey De Neulliac, 4th, -1pt
Numeral WON at advised 9/2, +4.5pts
Grand Theft Equine, could've won had he not been nudged, 2nd, -1pt
Key Cutter WON at advised 5/2, +2.5pts
Perlachy, came second, -1pt.
So a profitable day, +6.75pts, cancelling out yesterday's losses with a bit on top. We'll take it, although again two coming second a bit frustrating. Happy enough though :)
Cheers

Today's Results
Horses
Not a good day:
State Benefit, cruising until it fell, -2pts
Lets Get Serious WON at 7/4, +1.75pts
Casper of Tarsus & Sir Winston. Caspar trades 1.21, and loses -1pt. Sir Winston trades 1.23, and loses -1pt. What is even worse, the winner, traded at 1000 IR at one stage. A very, very harsh result for us. -2pts total.
Southway Star, never got anywhere, -1pt
Mickmacmagoole, never came close, -2pts
King's Choristor, same as the previous two, didn't challenge at all, -1pt
So, a day that would have been saved had one of the 3:10 horses managed to hold on. However it was not meant to be, so we took a hit of -6.25pts. C'est la vie.
Football
One midweek bet, Bath, took the lead very early but couldn't hold on and lost 4-1 so -1pts tonight in football.

US Sports Results
Not bad hey!
On Saturday we had a college football bet with Colorado State on the h'cap. They lost 22-19, but with the +5.5 start covered well = +0.95pts
Sunday:
2 x NFL plays and a NHL play, all we went 3 and 0. :D
NY Giants +7 gave the Packers a real run for their money, losing by 3. A 2pt bet as well +1.9pts
Indianapolis Colts +20.5 was a bit more of a sweat, after being down 31-3 down going into the 4th, they put on 21 points, to easily cover the h'cap = +1.909pts
Colorado Avalanche won 4-2 to end the winning streak of Detroit. +1.21pts
So in terms of US sports, a 4 and 0 weekend. Can't be more happy with how we have started :)

Football Results
Desperate times on the football. Just when we feel we may get a boost and go on a winning run, we end back at square one. A lot of thinking and analysis goes into the football - but we are looking at a period over a year which just has not performed. Is it the end of football ratings? No, I don't think it is, but quite clearly it is more and more difficult with the huge increase of general knowledge within football. The way football ratings work varies, but essentially it is about selecting 'unfashionable teams', in the sense that they are normally overlooked as a bet, but more and more people know appreciate and acknowledge these sorts of factors (in layman's terms.) Don't get me wrong - we have not lost faith in the systems, but while you can not be concerned with short-term fluctuations, when these periods do drag on, you have to look at everything to find out 'why?' I am sure we have had some bad luck along the way too, but to reassure you, we constantly are looking for ways or means to improve.
Aberdeen lost 2-0 away to Kilmarnock = -1pt
Birmingham lost 1-0 away to Cardiff, after going down to 10men = -1pt
Burnley WON 1-2 away at West Ham - a big scalp, and saved the weekend from being a complete disaster. Settled at odds of 6.29, which was available on BF at the off = +5.29pts
Everton lost 1-0 at home to Stoke = -1pt
Hearts lost 1-2 at home to St Johnstone = -1pt
Malaga lost 3-2 away to Sociedad, contriving to throw away a 1-2 lead in the 89th min, and then go on to lose = -1pt
Notts Forest lost 1-0 away to Brighton = -1pt
Villarreal lost 1-0 away to Santander = -1pt
So, from so many draws costing us last Saturday, it is defeats which have done us over this time. 1 winner from 8 is a really poor strike rate, and thanks to Burnley (who came from behind) the loss was only -1.71pts. There is a sense of injustice in some, but you always tend to feel this way in defeat. Blues were never really in much danger until losing a man, Kilmarnock scored 2 from 3 shots, Everton lost to a Stoke side coming off the back of 4 defeats after European midweek games, Hearts dominated St Johnstone in terms of possession (61-39) and had more shots, but lost, Malaga were winning until the 89th min, Brighton scored with their only shot on target, Villarreal lost to bottom of the table, but also dominated in terms of possession. Let's remain positive though!

Another good day!
Tina Spirit WON at advised 7/2, managing to stay on throughout and drew clear with 1f out +3.5pts

Right, from now on I promise not to be optimistic about a day! Not great yday, but the 2pt bet did trade 1.61 IR, before an error one out knocked it out of stride unfortunately.
