Thursday 12th Jan:

Otto Quercus fell 3 out when about 7 lengths clear. Frustrating = -1pt
Beachwood Bay got smashed into 3/1 SP, but weakened in the last furlong = -1pt
Clerical never really got into it = -1pt

-3pts day, but aggrieved with Otto Quercus!

Friday 13th Jan:

Big Bertie was another who had market support, but an error ridden run saw him finish way back = -1pt
Philharmonic Hall started well, but faded = -1pt
Ravi River not got going = -1pt
Raining Horse weakened badly = -1pt
Black Iceman went off odds on, and stayed on well to win = +1.75pts

Just the one winner then, after a poor performance from the other picks = -2.25pts

Saturday 14th Jan:

Raucous Behaviour 3rd, just a bit one paced =-1pt
Bronze Angel was another well backed winner, going off even money. Prominent throughout = +2.25pts
King Of Wing  faded = -1pt

So a quiet day, but a small winning day with +0.25pts

Sunday 15th Jan

Fistful of Dollars 2nd, but never had the pace to challenge = -1pt
Availed Speaker one place behind Fistful Of Dollars = -1pt

Monday 16th Jan:

Humbel Ben was a NR
Jodawes weakened = -1pt
With Hindsight, advised 17/2, went off a staggering 20/1 and came... last! Did actually lead until weakening - very badly. I would suspect a few people knew it wouldn't stay the trip. = -1pt

-2pts again for the day.

Overall, just two winners from the period, but it has been quiet. In all honesty, as i said earlier, with frost, the cold and conditions dictating meetings are off etc, it can be a tricky period. I am happy to have a small number of selections through times like this for sure.

Football:
A weekend of a fair few dogs.

Athletico Madrid won comfortably 3-0 = +0.73pts
Blackburn won well, 3-1, despite having 10 men for 75mins = +2.13pts
Bristol City lost 2-0 as a 2pt play = -2pts
Everton drew 1-1 away at Villa, although could have pinched it = -1pt
Hibernian won 2-3, after it looked like a late Dunfermline equaliser may have cost us = +2.25pts
Inverness won 0-1 away to Motherwell = +4.125pts
Lazio won 2-0 = +0.86pts
Leeds drew 1-1 with Palace, despite having a man advantage = -1.5pts
St Johnstone lost 1-2 at home to Rangers = -1pt
Tranmere lost 1-2 away to Yeovil, despite taking an early lead = -2pts
AEK Larnaca drew 1-1, conceding a last minute penalty = -1pt

So, again, a couple which didn't quite go our way, but still, with the staking an ok weekend again on the footy = +1.595pts recorded.
