System Bets
Tuesday 8th:
Captain Kelly 2nd, just a little off the pace unfortunaltely = -1pt
Feeling Good 2nd by a neck, just falling short = -1pt
So two 2nds meaning -2pts
Wednesday 9th:
Overturn 2nd, despite leading late on, and staying on well = -1pt
Falasteen never got going = -1pt
Bubbly Ballerina was in contention, but was hampered inside the final furlong, and subsequently weakened = -1pt
Tempting Paradise was a NR as our 2pt bet
Carabinier also a NR
Tin Pot Man again a NR
3 non-runners sums up the conditions right now. Another 2nd place, one which never got racing and another which was unlucky in the run in. - 3pts
Thursday 10th:
Bromhead raced keenly, and was leading, but then made a couple of mistakes and tailed off = -1pt
So again, a bit of misfortune cost us. = -1pt
Not the greatest couple of days then, and as stated in the summary, a tad unfortunate in the selections which have gone well. Part and parcel of racing.
Tracking Bets
Wed 9th:
Baddilini 3rd, never having the required pace = -1pt
Gulf Of Naples 3rd, went well, but also not as good as the winner = -1pt
Confessional WON @ 5/1 staying on well = +5pts
Noble Storm did lead, and till quite late on, but tailed off = -1pt
Montaser weakened = -1pt
One winner = +1pt
Thurs 10th:
Hunters Light never got going and didn't suit the conditions = -1pt
David Livingstone started well, but weakened = -1pt
Lexi The Princess pretty much refused to race = -1pt
Personal Touch 3rd, and not far away, staying on well = -1pt
Calaf didn't really look like threatening = -1pt
So not great with no winners = -5pts
Overall - system bets and tracking bets - a reoccurring theme applied - a lot started well but for one reason or another didn't suit the difficult conditions, with plenty tailing off or weakening. I do feel had we had 'better' conditions then we may have had a different few days. Keep ploughing on.
