Results Update

It really has been a miserable start to the season in terms of hard numbers and profits (or lack of). As any long term followers of this blog know, our approach was always systematic and religious. Because of changing personal circumstances, it was impossible to keep this up, but to keep the blog up and running from an enjoyment perspective, I blog about my personal fancies for the weekend football. There may be the odd horse thrown in along the way, but that really did take dedicated amounts of time I just do not currently have.

Anyhow, the results are updated for you under the respective tab. There have been some bets which we haven't got a good run for our money, but also some where we've just been a tad unlucky in my opinion, having watched and analyses the games. It is tough though, and I have talked myself out of certain bets (WBA away to Utd) springs to mind which would have had the P&L chart looking completely differently!

What I think you will see is the unpredictability of the Premier League and that we are right to look for poorly priced favourites who are too short to oppose.

A small reflection for those who want to bring up the pain:
Chelsea turned in an awful performance away to Newcastle, as Pardew got his tactics and team selection right.
Norwich were well beaten 7-0 by City, and they looked really poor, despite a couple of the early goals being absolute horror shows. These game it is always essential for the away dog to grow into the game, but early goals are killers.
Villa were a tad unlucky in a dour game - Weiman was brought down when clean through with nothing given, whilst Benteke smashed a late header off the bar. West Ham had no real chances, just aimless crosses, and on another day this tight game might have gone for us.
WBA were awfully poor against Liverpool, who has Sturridge and Suarez in fine form with some fine goals.
Stoke were unlucky to lose away to United, twice being in front to be hit very late on. United were real poor, until a chance (but excellent) header from Rooney from a corner gave them the momentum swing.
Norwich away to Arsenal conceded early on to a goal of a season contender from Wilshere, before throwing away the handicap late on, and similarly that day Cardiff went ahead at Chelsea, before a real controversial goal involving Eto' was given.

So I think the last few weeks a couple of things could have gone our way all things being a tad different, but we stick through these tough times.

Best of luck in all you do
