Horse Racing Results

Embarrassingly enough, the last time results were completed and updated was 2 weeks ago. Here we go to rectify this! The last time the results were recorded was for the action dated 13th Oct.

Horse Racing:

Friday 14th:
Just the one bet - Flying Picketts who never really got into the race = -1pt

Saturday 15th:
One bet again - Buck Mulligan 2nd, running well, but a couple of timely errors proved crucial = -1pt

Sunday 16th:
4 bets:
Pepe Simo WON @ 7/4 by 5 lengths, pulling away well = +1.75pts
Dean's Grange 2nd but by 12 lengths = -1pt
Oriental Girl 3rd narrowly, just lacking slightly = -1pt
Mount Hollow 2nd, running on well late on, but left a little too much = -1pt

- 1.25pts on the day, which was a tad annoying with all doing well.

Monday 17th:
One bet - Eightfold who was last, and never looked right = -1pt

Tuesday 18th:
Callisto Moon never had the pace and blundered several times = -1pt
My Brother Sylvest WON despite drifting to 13/8, making all and winning well by 31 lengths = +1.625pts
Run Along Boy 2nd to My Brother Sylvest = -1pt
Rory Boy WON @ adv 9/2 had a struggling start, but recovered well to win = +4.5pts
Mumbles Pier WON @ 5/4 just holding on in a 2 runner race = +1.25pts

A decent day with 3 winners = +5.375pts

Wednesday 19th:
A busy day!
Leqqaa 2nd just no extra at the end = -1pt
Mubaraza 2nd by a short head, kept on very well, but just bumped in the last 1f = -1pt
Balzaccio WON @ adv 5/2, always in contention, and rallied well late on = +2.5pts
Take A Mile held up and never threatening = -1pt
Princely Hero, chased well but a mistake proved costly = -1pt
Sadlers Star one paced throughout = -1pt

Not great = -2.5pts

Thursday 20th:
Another day of several selections
Penang Cinta looked good, but one paced = -1pt
Aviso always in contention, but unpaced 2 out = -1pt
Amir Pasha never threatening = -1pt
Ring Bo Ree pulled up = -1pt
Jauntry Journey nearly unseated rider and loose run throughout = -1pt
Tiger O Toole fell = -1pt
Vimiero decent start, looked good, but hampered 1 out and tailed off = -1pt
Fleetwoodsands was backed into 14/1 from 25/1, and led until 2f out, but weakened when mattered = -1pt
Sinadinou held up and bunched up, never got into a stride capable of winning = -1pt

A bad day, with a lot of runs fading off = -9pts

Friday 21st:
Hefner 2nd, backed in from 12/1 adv to 6/1. A short head was the difference, after a strong finish = -1pt
Pheidias fell at the 1st = -1pt
Helpston was a NR
Pinotage was 3rd as the 2pt bet. Held up, and ran on well in the last but couldn't quite reach leaders = -2pts
Belle Park WON @ adv 8/1, rescuing the day! Held up, but found the gap and pulled clear. Just held on winning by a neck = +8pts

+4pts on the day, but disappointing run on the 2pt bets goes on.

Saturday 22nd:
Ballesteros held up and always in the rear = -1pt
Holiday Reading had a decent start, led till around half way but weakened = -1pt
Kack Handed 3rd, took an early lead but a few mistakes hindered and no extra was found under pressure = -1pt
Nomecheki 2nd, always chasing but always outpaced by winner = -1pt
Edgardo Sol WON @ SP 7/1, always in contention, a couple of mistakes but ran well and jumped well late on, running on gamely to win by a neck = +7pts
Ackertac pulled up = -1pt

+2pts on the day.

Sunday 23rd:
A 3pt bet for the first time in a while, which lost :(
Gullible Gordon ran from the front, but one paced = -1pt
Gloran Jack 2nd, but way back = -1pt
Saint Are 2nd as the 3pt bet, did lead, and looked threatening , but held off = -3pts
Takeroc WON @ adv 6/1 getting smashed into 11/4 f. Stayed on well and pulled well clear to win by 12l = +6pts

Just +1pt profit on the day with Saint Are failing :(

Monday 24th:
Hit The Switch 3rd but one paced = -1pt
Baileys Agincourt never got into it = -1pt
Zaeem 2nd by a neck, just lacking a little more = -1pt

-3pts on the day

Tuesday 25th:
Daymar Bay weakened badly = -1pt
Calico Rose had every chance until a mistake on the last = -1pt
Rileyev always chasing, but always behind = -1pt
Mohawk Ridge 2nd but by 13l = -1pt
Bold Chief one paced = -1pt

-5pts on the day

Wednesday 26th:
Just the one bet
Celestial Dawn weakened despite a promising start = -1pt

Thursday 27th:
Bay Central didnt have enough = -1pt
Green Du Ciel disputed the lead but faded off = -1pt
Kappelhoff struggled and tailed off, finishing miles back = -1pt
Medal Of Valour led, but lost place 8 out and came last = -1pt
Rio Royale WON @ 7/1, chased early on, but ran clear inside final furlong = +7pts
Fascinating WON convincingly at adv Even money = +1pt
Vhujon held up, but stayed on, despite having no impression = -1pt

+3pts on the day.

So that brings us up to speed on horse racing, and it sort of feels like we have ticked over slowly, with not really too much happening. I guess considering the October we had last year, this is an improvement, but still over the period discussed we have lost -9.375pts (which can all be related to that one real bad day.) It isn't a disaster, as October is known to come with extra variables with being the end of the flat and start of the NH season. We just hope that in hitting November we can hit some decent form soon enough and start ramping up the profit, fingers crossed!
